I love roller coasters! On these pages you will find my thoughts and ratings for many of the coasters that I have been experienced. Like everything else on this site, my ratings are totally subjective.

The greatest coaster in the world is X. Below is a picture of Don and Michael on X in September of 2003.
Below is another picture from X that was taken in 2002. Click on either picture to see a larger version.

My Top 10 Coasters First, X busts the top ten to pieces, so I can't even put it in the same list as the rest. I love Montu (number 1) but X is a billion times better. So let's just say that X is X and leave it at that. For the other coasters in the world, here is my top 10: |
My Top 7 Theme Parks I'm still thinking this one through, but here is a quick take (there aren't 10 yet): #1: Cedar Point (I changed this upon returning from CA in September 2003. The reason is because Six Flags Magic Mountain is so poorly run. Magic Mountain was number 1 because of X and the other coasters it has, but it is so poorly run that I have to drop it to #2. Cedar Point has cool rides and it is run so well! If it had X I would never go to Magic Mountain again!). #2: Six Flags Magic Mountain (The only reason this ranks #2 is because it has X. It is one of the most poorly managed parks in the world! X was never up when the park opened and when it did start up they only ran one train, so there was over an hour wait in line when there was no need for the wait. Also Deja Vu was down for the weekend! They have other cool coasters, but they got major points against them for this past trip.) #3: Busch Gardens, Tampa #4: Island of Adventure #5: Busch Gardens, Williamsburg (one of the prettiest parks) #6: Sea World, FL (Kracken and the dolphins are cool). #7: Six Flags Over GA (park has cool coasters when they are working ... incompetent staff!) |
How my totally subjective coaster rating works: In order for there to be a rating, there must be a standard by which you rate. In life issues such as morality and how we should live, the standard is God and His revealed will in the Bible. That never changes. To rate roller coasters there is no bible, so I need another standard. So for that I consider every coaster I have ever been on and choose the best. That honor, for the time being, goes to the front seat of Montu in Busch Gardens, Tampa, FL, which rates a perfect 10*. All other coasters are judged by that standard. Someday I may ride something that beats Montu's first seat*, in which case Montu's rating would drop from the perfect 10 to something below that and a new coaster would become the standard. It is that simple. By the way, some of my friends (namely Michael and Nate) think Millennium Force in Cedar Point should be the standard, and it is close (I rate it a 9.8). But I still think the overall ride of the first seat of Montu is the very best (though I would give the best drop award to MF!).
*X blows Montu and everything else away, but it transcends this rating. On a scale of 1 to 10 it would be in the billions. So Montu is still the standard by which I will measure others.
