In God's Voice
A little commentary: I think it is very dangerous (and stupid) to put words in God's mouth. These saying could be considered blasphemous. They are, at the very least, in bad taste. I also thing they break the command about taking the Lord's name in vain.
- "Hello, this is God. I love you." - (I saw this a while back ... a really clever sign would have said, "Hello, this is God. You are going to hell.")
- I love you ... and you ... and you ..." - God. - (I would love to add to this sign "but not you")
- Jesus love you. I approve of this message - God. (Thomas and I saw this one.)
- "I'll Be Back!" -Jesus (I saw this and couldn't believe my eyes. This has to be one of the all time worst "in God's name" signs I have ever seen. Now Jesus is The Terminator? This one didn't just make my top ten list, it made number one!) This was number 1 on the top 10 for some time.
- Jesus requests the honor of your presence on Sunday morning. (They are speaking for Jesus and making a trite comment in Jesus' name. This is really bad.)
- Come by my house Sunday before the Bucs game - God. (A bunch of us saw this on the way to the Movies Saturday night. You know I hate things in God's voice, but this is particularly bad!)
- Need Directions? Follow Me - God. (I saw this at a church that doesn't usually do this kind of thing.)
- Waiting for a sign from God to come to church ... this is it. (Seen by Michael--while not exactly in God's voice, this does take the Lord's name in vain.)
- “Hope to see you here Sunday” (God)
- “Stop by my house before the big game.” (God) (I saw this in Lakeland--Super Boll week)
- “That ‘Love thy neighbor’ thing, I meant it!” (God)
- “A dam holds water back. It's not my last name.” (God)
- “Come to church before the game bring your kids.” (God)
